Quickbooks Multi-User

Good afternoon Icrontic!
A client of mine is complaining about QuickBooks to me, not even having anything to do with the different services I provide to them, but I kindly offer to help them out and do some research. I wonder if anyone here has any ideas.
Here is their issue:
Their QB is setup in multi-user, it is premiere 2010 and they have 3 user licenses. The database runs on a 2008r2 server. Gigabit network, very fast brand new server, and clients running relatively new workstations on a range of XP-7.
Complaints are as follow:
- Even though we are in multi-user mode, we can't access the same books and modules at the same time.
- QuickBooks takes up to 5 minutes just to load
Anyone know any basic tips to make multi-user mode more multi-user friendly, or any ideas on what would cause a QB client to take 5 minutes to load on what is supposed to be a fast network with new systems? I am just not a QB person at all.
Thanks for your thoughts!
