The game, which was a questionable release for this year, has been officially slated for launch on July 27th, 2010. Players will be able to purchase the game directly from Blizzard Entertainment following the retail launch.

    The release is near-worldwide. Blizzard stated that the game will see release on July 27th in multiple countries.     Blizzard Entertainment’s CEO and co-founder, Mike Morhaime, had this to say of the pending release:

    I was just thinking, in the next 3 months, Blizzard is going to have to burn MILLIONS of SC2 DVDs, probably 8-10 million, and have them already to go, so development will probably end in the next month or so to have a final release version ready. Then they can start working on patches.
