I think it's just ridiculous, truth be told. This pack has 2 new pieces, as the third (Inferno Armor) was a pre-order bonus. Now, ME2's only been out a few months so it's a bit of a kick in the teeth to those who bought the codes on eBay or otherwise. Those of us who have it end up with a duplicate, and there's no way for us to "just" get the visors.
This is just furthering my annoyance with how DLC and items are handled by EA/BioWare.
I agree. Even at $2, I'm not a fan of such DLC. It's why I wrote the news the way I did. Some will like the DLC, but to me, the whole thing is a bit frivolous.
If they doubled the price of the pack, replaced the Inferno armor with something *new* or other armor pieces and maybe something else (maybe another ornament for your cabin?) then perhaps it'd be worth it. Nothing overpowered, of course, but just some new chest pieces, legs, maybe gloves and shoulders?
But I can't justify that price for 2 visors I likely won't use and an armor set I already have.
No, there was supposed to be continual free releases on Cerberus Network for those who preorder ME2. I was expecting stupid things like this for free and actual content would have to be paid for. Apparently stupid things like this you have to pay for too.
And there still are (note: Cerberus Network was moved from a Collector's Edition bonus to being in all copies of the game as part of EA's "Project Ten Dollar" initiative). The Hammerhead pack came out not overly long ago, and they've already dropped a few bits and pieces on it.
They never claimed all DLC will be free, and they haven't announced an end to free DLC. If you, like me, think it's a waste of time, just don't buy it.

At least, not to my knowledge.
