Buying a HD Video Camera...

Some of you may know that I have started a career on YouTube, and to get anywhere on YouTube, a good setting, good content, and a good reason to come back are essential. Let me get to the point. An HD Camera will help to improve all of these factors by an unknown percentage that I don't even think is possible to calculate, and I have deduced that I need one.

I am trying to shop around for a inexpensive, portable, and High-Quality Video Camera/Recorder. I have done a little bit of research, not much, but a little bit. I have found that as I look, the specs get so much different. I've looked at a few comparison videos, but not many people have made any recently.

So far I am looking at 2:
1. The SlideHD - http://www.theflip.com/en-us/products/specs.aspx
2. The Sanyo Xacti CS1 - http://sanyo.com/xacti/english/products/vpc_cs1/spec.html

These both are fairly inexpensive from what I know. Does anyone know of anything that may be better?

How much money do you have to spend?

As little as possible. I would have to say anywhere within $300-500 at most.

Show us a video on YouTube that is a good example of the quality you want to achieve.

For shooting yourself at a static angle, I would just get this and get an external mic to improve audio quality.

I would like to be able to move around. That's why I was looking at the two that I mentioned. So, the least blur that I could get the better.

We have the normal flip and the flip HD here at the office and they perform well. Even when we attach them our RC cars and jump ramps!

So, would you say that they are worth the price?

I was at BB the other day (of course), and they had the flip HD for $129. For that price it should be just fine to test the waters. You won't have any of the issues that larger cameras would give you in terms of file size and editing times. But it will be a nice intro into the compressed hi-def world of youtube.com.

Go for it, and let us know when you upload.

Alright, I will check into that, thanks.
