Well after re install still getting the same error... damn you Game! It never pays to have a super computer, it just makes you pay.
Maybe that's your problem, your computer is too slow. You know we run around the 15-30Ghz range these days, not this little 4+Ghz thing you got going on. Of course, we also run the risk of it spinning up too fast and traveling back in time after hitting our neighbor on the head, but that's the price you pay for something that can cure all diseases and includes "The Legend of Zoltare".
But seriously, you've probably already checked this but it may be depending on an outside thing like directx or physx or maybe even some random Win update. My other thought would be if, when trying to look at your system to determine what resources it could use, it's little brain just fries. I'd be curious if you could tone your settings down a bit to something earth people use, if it would behave any differently.
Some also mentioned uninstalling SH, PhysX, rebooting, then reinst SH since it should recognize PhysX missing and throw in the version it was tested ok with. Some also mentioned redoing their Nvidia drivers.
Bugger all I hate shuffling drivers and apps like that. Would be getting to the point I'd just not play the game instead of messing with it, but then again sometimes there's the challenge of making it work or bust.
I wish I could play this weekend, but once again thanks to my DFI motherboard dying, I am left in the dark when it comes to gaming. Thank god DFI says its shipping out Tuesday.

Happens when launching the game.
Why are you passing some string into a boolean?? That's ridiculous!
For constructive advice, ... uhhh try re-install? Isn't there a config tool for it? (not at my computer)
Personally, I'd love to give it a shot, it looks like a hoot, but just haven't made the jump from XP quite yet.
PSSST
PSSST It would look like shit.

Good luck!
Sledge,
Word on the street sounds like it is PhysX related. Here's what I was finding:

Let us know if you tackle it, what happens.
I can run SH on a 8800GTG92.
I did the above 3 times the same way... the 3rd time finally worked.. and it all ended with subpar gameplay... awwww!
If you only knew the issues I deal with on getting games to work on the oldest machines known to man.
