formatting Dell XP laptop? w/ windows XP Pro

I need help like yesterday.
My laptop was really acting strange, so I turned it off, and when I restarted it, I got the login to windows screen

user name (was) anyuser
and it wanted a password.
I have never set up a password for it.

I am trying to format it but unsure of what the commands are.
I have started it, hit the F12 and I am on the Format drive page

F:\>
what do I type here, I want to wipe everything off of it. I do not want to run a back up.

    Boot with an XP CD, start the setup process. When it comes to the partition screen, just delete the current partitions (all of them) and the let Windows create a new one. Then, finish the install.
