Intel Centrino support on Linux
It has been reported that the chipmaker Intel will in all likely hood soon start to offer full driver support for the 'Centrino' CPU under Linux. It is also hoped that the company will follow up the initial release with an open-source version that the general Linux programming community will be able to scrutinze and reshape at will.
[blockquote]Thus far Linux can use only two of Centrino's three components--the Pentium M processor and an accompanying chipset. Linux hasn't been able to take advantage of the third and distinguishing component, the wireless networking electronics, though Intel has written a driver to enable such support in its labs.
