Too bad you didn't get to check out the other demoes. You missed MGS3: The Naked Sample and RE: Revelations. There's also gonna be a Dead or Alive game, and Assassin's Creed game, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and a buttload of other games. The 3DS has an excellent lineup in store.

A very good point - they were indeed there and I saw both MGS3 and RE: Revelations (as well as several others), but I chose to pass by them for the other demos. Basically, the Nintendo people filter you into a room with about 50 or so 3DS's, each with one of the different demos. With so many demos and only 20 minutes to see what you can, you have to really pick and choose. Plus, more popular games like MGS had a bit of a line, and I tried to jump to game systems that were open with no line, such as the Augmented Reality demo.
Also, I haven't played much of the MGS or RE games, so my viewpoint of them would not have been as informed as the ones I did look at - thus my discrimination choices.
I am so freakin jealous of you right now...I want one...nay NEED one!
Haha, well... I'm sure the wait won't be too terribly long, and while it was a neat experience it's something you can live without.
Ah who am I kidding, it rocked the freakin' house. But as cool as it was, there's plenty of other things coming out in the near future to keep you busy.
Your words are spot on and echo what everyone's been saying about the 3DS at E3. Like you, I can't wait to preorder the system. I only hope that Nintendo doesn't release an "XL" version a year later, or something to that effect. Thinking about it, there are 4 DS versions that came out in the span of about 5 years. Let's hope this one lasts a little longer.
Why is yours the only article that mentions the 3D augmented reality? This is the first I've heard of it. Anyway, I'm thrilled - your article made me even more excited about this thing than I was previously. Great read.
"In fact, you can focus your eyes on either foreground or background images, causing the opposite to split and blur out."
Can you REALLY?! Or was that an exaggeration (I asked the same question in the reddit submission). If so, then that just absolutely blows my socks off more than anything else. That means more than parallax barrier is going on, but I don't know if focusing on foreground/background is even possible.
In any case, this looks incredible! I haven't read anything about the augmented reality demo anywhere else, so thanks for sharing that
Great article! I'm really excited about this. I haven't owned a hand-held gaming system since GameBoy Color but I might to pick this one up! Can't wait to hear what else is in it. Wifi? I'm surprised there wasn't a Pokemon demo, considering how huge that franchise is.

Sorry for the lack of comments!
Great article. Nintendo is the best company for visionaries. They bring fantasy into reality.

I can´t wait to get my hands on one.
Nintendo keeps on leading the industry forwards.
