I used to think I was one of the only people that ever played (and enjoyed) the original Kid Icarus on NES. The surge of interest after E3 2010 is sort of like validating my childhood
My buddies didn't even know what Kid Icarus was until they played SSBB and asked who the hell Pit was. I proceeded to enlighten them and we all agree that it's fairly enjoyable.

Yes, I'm excited about it.
I was always kind of sad that Metroid took off while Kid Icarus got neglected. I used to spend way too many hours trading off between those two on my old NES, and I have all these steno pad notebooks filled with save game passwords for them.
Kids these days wouldn't know a DANGER !!!!!! TERROR HORROR from a JUSTIN BAILEY.
I also can't look at an eggplant the same way, after Kid Icarus.
