Copying Halo 2 maps to my PC hard drive?

I play Halo 2 (still) through xbconnect.com on my original Xbox.

Since the maps supposedly can't be downloaded anymore, I was thinking of hooking up the Xbox hard drive to my PC and copying the whole hard drive so I'd have a backup copy.

Anyone ever done this? Since its an original Xbox it's a standard IDE drive. I thnk its 8 GB.

You can't just hook up an xbox hde and just read it. It's locked. You first need to hack the harddrive then do a few other things before you can read it.

Once that's all done you can probably transfer the maps. I would think they are in the same format.
