The book I spoke of during our fitness session is called Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe<img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=icrontic-20&l=as2&o=1&a=0976805421" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />.

Mark Rippetoe is the grandpappy of biomechanics in weight lifting. He helped turn strength training and power lifting into an exact science. If there is gospel to be heard at the gym, it comes from Rippetoe.
