Help with external dvd drive
Hi everyone,
I currently have a Dell XPS M1530 running Windows 7 Ultimate. I have a blank DVD stuck in my optical drive and it was costing me $130.00 to get it fixed. So i decided to get an external DVD drive which was cheaper but my issue now is I'm trying to reinstall Win 7 and I don't know how to set up the external DVD drive so I can boot from it. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Then when you first turn on the computer hit F12 to get to your boot menu with your External DVD plugged in and with the Win7 DVD inside. Cross your fingers for a boot from external option.

I did that once before and it worked like a charm. Just takes some patience and dexterity.
I tried downloading the new bios update but still no go with it. I'm going to try taking out the disk like in the youtube video and see how it goes. Appreciate your help, thanks
