Problem with "Tooltips"

I am having a little quirk with tooltips. If I mouse over something it shows the tool tip..but if I move the mouse to the item next to it, it shows the new box size. but has the previous "tip" displayed in the box. In the top screen shot below I moused over one of the FAH cogs and then moved the cursor over MBM . The box size changed but the text remained. The lower screen shot is what it should say in the top box. Also....If I mouse over anything in the taskbar the tooltip comes up behind the task bar. You can barely see the top of it . Bottom screen shot.
Anybody have a fix for this?

Thanks

Scott

First step: Decrease hardware acceleration one or two notches, and see if that clears up your problem.

Um, check mouse driver and monitor driver. I have had similar problems, and they appeared when I installed MBM 5 on my box. I found that my mouse pointer hot spot was not exactly centered to the mouse cursor, and this only happened in the XP Pro taskbar quick launch icons as they were real close together. IF you do not mind having a 2 layer taskbar, you can change the icon spacing some by hacking the registry, but it is easier to possibly fix with a new mouse driver. I just played with the icon spacings, myself, and the hot spot. Did not happen with a non-optical mouse, but did with a Microsoft mouse that is optical with the standard PS\2 Microsoft mouse driver that came with XP SP1. Not enough "blank" border space between icons, and offset hot spot was my issue. Driver and increasing the icons sizing helped, though I now have a three row high "autohiding" taskbar also.

I think its FAH. I knew it was before I opened the thread.

I know there was a problem with it awhile ago and I still dont know if its fixed or not.

it's because of the graphical version of FAH. I know this to be 100% true. it happened to me. I tried switching video modes, color modes, etc.... just switch to the console version and it's gone. I don't know why stanford doesn't fix this, but just switch to the console version and it won't happen.

Yes it is the graphical version. I just loaded the logitech mouse drivers per John's suggestions, rebooted and started turning things on one at a time and checking the "tooltips"
    I started....
    Trayit............OK
    GraphicFAH.....OK..Yes..still OK
    ConsoleFAH.....OK
    EMIII..............OK
Checked back here and saw kanezfans post and wondered if opening the grapical client would do anything? So I opened it and closed it and the problem returned.
So you can start it and let it run in the tray....just don't open it.

Thanks guys ...now I know what it is. Someone should post when stanford fixes it.

scott, in my experience, you don't have to even open it. eventually it happens, regardless of it you opened it or not. if you have the FAH graphical version and it is in your systray, it will eventually happen.

It's a problem with windows, not F@H. It will be fixed in XP SP2.

I just don't pay it no attention! I figured either XP or folding, but it didn't bother me, so I just ignore it when it pops up. I just move the mouse over and check it again.

either way it annoys the crap out of me and since I can fix it by running the console instead of the graphical, that's what I do.
