i used the -forceasm tag and -advmethods, and i still get sinkers and 3d now...what the deal?

Its forcesse now to get SSE optimizations.

Could be a mess up with the tinker. Did you get the WU before you added advmethods?

-forceSSE for v4, and this is why you may be getting Tinkers.

Remember that running with the -advmethods flag will leave you at the mercy of what ever Stanford's testing at the moment so you might get Gromacs, Tinkers, or the occasional Genome.

Also remember that Tinkers don't use SSE or 3DNOW.

Having said that, it appears there was a glitch in the assignment servers that resulted in them giving out mostly Tinkers. Supposedly it's been corrected and all should return to normal.
