    This may be my lack of 8 bit gaming experience but are not the swimming scenes around 1:18 a Super Mario Bros reference (The spinning fireball gates)?

    The top down view mowing people over in a car reminded me of the original GTA also.

    The swimming parts are definitely the first Ninja Turtle game. The dam level. Oh god the dam level.
