My Laptop goes to sleep even connected
Hi,
I have a Compaq Presario CQ60 (Laptop) running Windows Vista with 3 gigs in RAM that goes to sleep by itself. I bought it about a year and half ago. It doesn't matter if I have it connected to power, it still will go to sleep. I have to wait until the battery gets some charge (I'm guessing) to wake it up because if I try right away to turn it on it will completely die.The battery indicator says that that everything is OK, that it is fully charged.
Does anyone know what the heck is going on with it? Can it be easily fix? because I'm seriously thinking smashed against the wall!
Thank you

Start menu... type "power" and select "power options". That will bring up the power plan window. What plan is selected? You can change plans or modify the plan.
This sounds like a similar problem to what I've had on a couple of laptops. I'm betting the power jack on your laptop's motherboard has a broken connection.
Try plugging your laptop in. If the battery light doesn't come on, gently wiggle the laptop end of the plug. If the battery light comes on while you're moving the plug, you've got a broken connection.
The solution is inexpensive but time consuming if you want to fix it yourself. You completely disassemble the laptop and re-solder the power jack to the motherboard. If you aren't comfortable doing that, you're in for an expensive repair unless the laptop is still under warranty.
