Halo 2 for PC won't play sound using TV

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this issue? Everything worked just fine when I had it all hooked up to my PC monitor. Now that I have hooked up my PC to my TV no other sound is played other than the sound that occurs when you're in wait mode in Live and the blue HALO graphics come up (in the wait period). I've tried using my tv speakers, changing the speaker preferences, adding my computer speakers and going through windows default and I have had no success. All my other games work just fine wih sound even after switching to my tv monitor.
