Lets see how far the icrontic community reaches.

Post pictures you took of things that make your city famous - the skyline, big public art pieces, cool old buildings, etc.

I live in Seattle.

The space needle, our big seattle "thing" taken from my point and shoot from the bus.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/40153539@N08/4230557766/&quot; title="_MG_8921 by vertatle, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2531/4230557766_b34371c08a.jpg&quot; width="500" height="299" alt="_MG_8921" /></a>
Our city skyline.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/40153539@N08/4961516958/&quot; title="IMG_5312 by vertatle, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4082/4961516958_0bf091af10.jpg&quot; width="500" height="345" alt="IMG_5312" /></a>
Pike Place Market. Its in the heart of the city and you may have heard about the vendors with fresh fish that toss the fish over the customers heads to each other. Its a big public farmers/craft market and next to it is the very first starbucks ever.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/40153539@N08/4961519748/&quot; title="IMG_6009 by vertatle, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4088/4961519748_44a23ca3ee.jpg&quot; width="500" height="361" alt="IMG_6009" /></a>
Mt Rainier. The highest peak in the state and on really clear sunny days you can see it nice and big from the city center. This pic is from the racetrack which is about 45 min south of seattle so the mountain is extra big.

This is a tough one for me to answer - I haven't really figured out what my city truly is yet. It was Elkhart, Indiana for the longest time, but I'm entirely serious when there isn't jack that I could showcase as being a landmark. Completely serious, the place is as empty and generic as they come.

So I guess I'll start with Indiana general:

    4961115003_6f9cd56f44.jpg
    4961115487_dc5184e0cd.jpg
Lots and lots of cornfield. Wherever you go. Indiana is known for only this and one other thing:

    4961116073_79f4d6274d.jpg
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The birthplace of worldwide organized motorsport. If there was one single reason that I loved to live in this state for and that I was proud to be associated with, this was it.

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63697416@N00/4961118729/&quot; title="DSC01940 by Lynx-0-, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4151/4961118729_f525b93a33.jpg&quot; width="500" height="334" alt="DSC01940" /></a>
When I was living in Elkhart, Chicago was within an hours driving distance from me. I always considered it to be my 'real' city. I love Chicago, and I miss it dearly. Unfortunately, I don't have any landmark photographs taken with my DSLR, so this general one will have to suffice.

And then I moved. I lived near Los Angeles for about three months. I really love LA. Many people can't stand it, but being a film junkie and have some of the most fun moments in my life in my few trips to that city, it ranks highly for me.

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63697416@N00/4961120211/&quot; title="DSC02871 by Lynx-0-, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4100/4961120211_41aedecafc.jpg&quot; width="500" height="334" alt="DSC02871" /></a>
    Hollywood. Obligatory.

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63697416@N00/4961119125/&quot; title="DSC02853 by Lynx-0-, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4149/4961119125_48963e084c.jpg&quot; width="334" height="500" alt="DSC02853" /></a>
Grauman's Chinese Theater. This theater is one of the most iconic in all of the film industry. Right in the heart of Hollywood, along the Hollywood boulevard "Walk of Fame", many big names in the industry got their start with a film premiering at the Chinese theater. The notable feature to this landmark is, of course, the scores of movie star handprints and footprints in the concrete leading to the entrance of the theater. Some dating back to the theater's premiere back in 1927, the tradition still continues today. This is a stop that every film fan should see if they find themselves anywhere near Los Angeles. It's a movie nerd's playground.

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63697416@N00/4961716424/&quot; title="DSC03014 by Lynx-0-, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4073/4961716424_ac3ed0efd3.jpg&quot; width="334" height="500" alt="DSC03014" /></a>
Downtown Los Angeles and the US Bank building (on the right). It's the tallest building in LA, and is always featured prominently in any image of the skyline, represented by its unique circular shape amongst a city of rectangles.

And then I found a job and moved again. Today I'm a resident of NorCal. I live in Sunnyvale, in the heart of Silicon Valley, but there isn't much here by the way of landmarks. At least, none that I've found yet. Lots of big name companies, and mountains all around us. I haven't taken my camera out to shoot Sunnyvale yet, but only 45 minutes away is a little town known as San Francisco. I guess it's my new city.

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63697416@N00/4961117049/&quot; title="DSC02330 by Lynx-0-, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4094/4961117049_0cea77f6f8.jpg&quot; width="500" height="334" alt="DSC02330" /></a>
The famous Hyde Street cable cars. Probably the most iconic image to SF outside of the Golden Gate Bridge.

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63697416@N00/4961714014/&quot; title="DSC02341 by Lynx-0-, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4152/4961714014_0947468e39.jpg&quot; width="334" height="500" alt="DSC02341" /></a>
This is the Peace Pagoda in Japantown. Eggroll and I were enjoying this sight during a rainy spring day while enjoying green tea icecream. The pagoda is surrounded by cherry blossom trees.

This is the famous Lombard street. If you look towards the top of the hill, you can see the familiar road snaking sharply back and forth between grassy mounds. Here is a better shot of it for a frame of reference:
