Title says it all. I am trying to find out whether or not the Phenom II X3-720 needs a processor driver installation or not. I know the X2 series did but the X3, I am not so sure. Thx.

I did not install any drivers in Windows 7 for AMD Phenom II X3 and X4 processors. Not needed.

Thanks, I didn't think so. Right now, this X3 720 is in an XP machine and I don't detect any issues without a driver installed. (not referring to cool 'n quiet; don't use that anyway)

it doesn't NEED one, but last I checked AMD had released a couple utils that are supposed to help optimize things for WinXP... might want to look into it

If a driver is needed, it'll be in Windows Update.

Yes, it was listed at Windows Update. Went ahead and installed it, but I can't tell a noticeable difference.

    Thanks all.
