Anyone going to pick it up besides me? I've been playing a lot of Civ 4 at a friends house and I've been getting back into it. The last Sid Meier game I bought was Civ 2 :O

Me either, going to get it day 1, too. We should totally do a game on Tuesday and play until the wee hours of the morning and realize that we really need to sleep and be groggy the whole next day and do it again that night.

    Sounds awesome.

Have it preordered through amazon, because I had a $20 credit from buying Halo Reach.

I preordered it from D2D because they are giving you the first DLC for free with preorder.

Man, you guys are casual. I'll be walking into my nearest retail outlet to buy the game the second it's released.

I concur. I have it already preloaded ready for 10AM to hit and for it to be unlocked. Too bad I'll be at work until 4PM... I might come down with a case of Civitis and have to call in sick...

This Civ represents a few major shifts in mechanics anyway, so we're all gonna be learning.

Waiting for Friday (direct deposit FTW) to buy the game. That and I don't want to buy it during the week, don't think I would go to class.

I sunk five and a half hours into it so far today. I'm really happy with it. The combat is going to take some serious getting used to, you have to re-think you approach with everything.

Very very happy with how diplomacy works now. It feels much more natural, and befriending others isn't an absolute chore like it was in 4.

I caved in and bought this. I don't know why since I've always been more of an RTS than a turn-based strat player. o_o

Whenever I see screens of it I just desperately want to either buy it or kick ass on Civ IV
