Dell Dimension 9150 won't turn on

edited October 2010 in Hardware
Having a bit of trouble tracking down the cause.

When I plug in the desktop the fan starts up before I do anything, then when I hit the power button the light comes on solid amber and number 2 lights up but nothing else comes on and the manual doesn't seem to have an entry for just number 2 turned on alone (See here: http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim9100/en/SM/adtshoot.htm#wp1054184 )

Anyone have any idea what the problem might be? My suspicion is that there's something strange wrong with the PSU and if that's the case do I need a dell specific replacement PSU or will a standard ATX one do?

Thanks in advance for any help!

PSU is the best bet. Amber Power light is normally associated with PSU or bad capacitors.
