growing up with a 286, 21MB of HDD space, and 4 color CGA graphics was the greatest thing ever. Okay, it wasn't. But King's Quest from Sierra was. Trust me.

It's been redone with better graphics now.

There is a new fan-based series that continues the story after Sierra's King's Quest

if you never played the original, most likely because you don't even know what a 286 computer is (or too young to know what a 5.25" floppy is), you owe it to yourself to download these games and experience what 1984 PC gaming was all about

oh, and they are free

King's Quest I

King's Quest II

The Silver Lining: Episode I

The Silver Lining: Episode II

and a Bonus game, which happens to be one of my Top 10 all time favorite games....

Quest For Glory 2

I may be too young to have been out when they all were released, but I've put my time in on all the King's Quest games. I actually got my boss playing them when I interned this last summer.
