QX6700 overclocking

Hi Folks,

I have recently built an PC using old parts that were laying around at work. I'm using an intel QX6700 on an Asus P5B-E motherboard. In the bios I'm able to change the multiplyer to 12X which according to the BIOS sets the CPU clock speed at 3.2GHZ, however when I check the details in CPUZ I can only see core 0 which is at the stock speed. When I look in speccy, I can see all 4 cores and only core 3 is running at 3.2GHZ on a 12x multiplier while the other 3 are at stock.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this would be?

Many thanks in advance.

If you changed the multipliers in the BIOS, I don't know why they wouldn't be linked already. Maybe reset your board to optimized defaults or something similar, making sure to note any changes you had previously made and try it again. You could also (at least temporarily) using tools to do the overclock within Windows (which makes stability testing faster). Intel Desktop Control is the closest thing I found quickly to AMD Overdrive, which is what I used for my desktop.
