Water damage on desktop. SOS!

edited December 2010 in Hardware
Hi all,

It has been such a shit week for my computer. Firstly i had a hard drive crash, i had just replaced it and reinstalled my OS and programs. THEN 2 days later i accidentally knocked over a bottle of water from my desk onto my desktop. I know, FML. It has a top fan and it dispersed water all over the computer internals. I managed to pull out the power plug at the back within 3-5 seconds. I dismantled most of the computer and dried it out with a fan and a hairdryer on cold setting and left it out to dry over night with a fan blowing at it. Now i've put it back together and it loads to the windows loading screen but then when windows is about to com on it restarts. Could i have messed drivers or bios when i removed that little motherboard battery? Also any signs that i should look out for that would point to water damage? What do i do! Help!

Cheers!

I'd run memtest on it first of all. Then have you tried booting up in Safe Mode?
