Can I delete VBC.exe?

edited December 2010 in Science & Tech
Hi. I have an annoying kegen which fires/loads on startup (although not a virus). I've tried hijackthis but I can't see which or what it is from the list provided, including the startup list. The only thing I can discern is that when I stop it (exit), vbc.exe disappears from the Processes list in Task Manager. (Win 7). <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

What is vbc.exe, how should I remove it, and is it easy to download and install a new version in the future if required? Many thanks to anyone who might know?!

vbc is part of visual basic studio. If you are running that then this is going to be showing in your task list. If not then the keygen could be using it to generate keys. Deleting vbc won't stop your computer from running.

you may want to just do a quick scan with Malwarebyte's before removing it, just to see what it pulls up.
