Hi guys,
I recently just got a new system (specifications are on my profile page) and I also recently installed a game called Battlefield Badcompany 2, using steam (offers this week, bought for only £7
). Now along with this game came an anti-cheat program called PUNKBUSTER. I tried installing it but it came up with an error telling me -
[12.22.2010 22:42:57] ERROR: File "C:\Users\Umar\AppData\Roaming\PnkBstrB.exe" does not exist.
[12.22.2010 22:42:57] ERROR: C:\Users\Umar\AppData\Roaming\PnkBstrB.exe does not contain a valid certificate; Load denied.
I tried right clicking on the pbsvc.exe file so that i can import its certificate but when i go to run the game i get kicked with a message saying punkbuster driver fail issue. I fiddled for hours and hours. changing settings using tutorials and such but still nothing.
I don't know if its windows 7's settings or something else on my OS that isn't detecting certificates. I contacted "evenbalance tech support" (guys behind the ridiculous program) and they gave me instructions to change import certificate but it didn't work.
I strongly think its something in windows that isn't allowing validation of the certificates. I didn't what else to say here so i produced a hijack this log. Take a look:
