Smartphone conundrum: which to get?

    I do. Mine opens and closes easily, and if you hold the phone upside down by the back portion, the front will swing down easily. I can open it by holding it by the back with the screen facing right and rotating my wrist 180 degrees so the screen faces down, then left, and that will open my phone every time. With it open, I just have to put it about 10 degrees off vertical for it to close by itself. That said, it doesn't affect much, and I, at least, rarely find myself in situations where the phone is able to exhibit those issues. There are also supposedly instructions floating around the web somewhere that will teach you how to tighten the springs on the mechanism if it really bugs you. XDA likely has them.

    Also worth noting: since I Swype, I can barely remember the last time I used the physical keyboard. I have realized that it offers me no benefit anymore. I'm still using it over the standard Desire I have because the hardware's slightly updated, though.
