Mouse gone crazy

I seem to be having a rather odd problem here, I have a basic USB Microsoft optical mouse, it just started this the other day, about the time my USB keyboard started turning itself on and off randomly (VERY annoying while in a firefight in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. :p) So I just grabbed a old ps2 keyboard out of the parts bin, but then, I woke up to a BSOD and the culprit was usb.sys.
Ever since then, the middle scroll wheel randomly quits working for 30secs-5mins and goes absolutly nuts, scrolling top to bottom, I have to push the wheel in to get into autoscroll mode to even read a page.
So any of you guys got any ideas? I'm grasping at straws.

I can post a everest report if needed too.

Could be a bad mouse, bad USB ports, a bad Windows install, a bad PSU and so on.

Try sfc /scannow from elevated command prompt, try other USB, try chkdsk /r ... check for viruses ...
