Well, crap.

I've got a virus, and no idea how to get rid of it. It's this bogus Palladium Security Program. It's gone now, I restarted in safe mode, but I know it's lurking on my system. Can anyone help me get rid of this? I have AVG but it seems powerless.

There seems to be a lot of info online but I can't tell if it's bogus or what, since most recommend downloading another program to get rid of it.

Please help!

It is on my desktop (who the hell knows why, I didn't install it so far as I know) as "Palladium for Windows"

HELLLP!

thanks!

Have you downloaded malwarebytes? It will run in safe mode and if you choose networking you can update it as well.

For the unknown viruses situations, I have 4 step resolution that is pretty good.
    1. Use ccleaner to clear all temp files and run registry scan. You can delete the add/remove programs entry with this also.
    2. Download and run combofix (instructions on site if you can't click through it). Only use this if you are on 32-bit windows.
    3. Download, update, and run Malwarebytes quick scan.
    4. Repeat step 1
Edit: I copied this, so even though you know what virus it is, my instructions still work. Also, if this is the virus you have, follow their instructions exactly.

just downloaded it. Hopefully it works

*EDIT* downloaded malwarebytes. Failing that, your step is next Tushon! Thanks guys. I'll let you know how it turns out. I also had a run at it with ESET NOD32, which seemed to get some things cleaned... argh.
