Just wanted to share (and maybe brag, but only a bit :P) my experience with my new rig I just built. If your thinking of getting the more expensive 260-280 ect, maybe this might save you some money.
System Specs are:

CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 250 Regor 3Ghz Stock Currently at 3600.3 MHz
Mainboard: BIOSTAR Group N61PC-M2S
Memory: 2x1024MB Corsair PC2-4300
Memory Timings: Default
Memory Clockspeed: 266 MHz
CPU Clockspeed: 3600MHz
Vcore: 1.36V (Default)
Cooling: Stock CPU 1x80mm Intake 1x160mm Exhaust
PSU: 500w OCZ Stealth X-Stream

The cpu from newegg was $59, vs a comparable one at 3.6Ghz is well over $100. I pretty much did nothing but replace the generic white grease on the heatsink and added AS Alumina, installed everything, then went to 3.4Ghz, then too 3.6Ghz.
Talk about bang for your buck!
