Yes, this was purely made in RPG Maker VX. I've seen some really great games made from that engine too, so this is a little bit disappointing.

    Just a thought.

    QuadWhore:

Thanks for your comment. I'm Aujang, one of SRRN's founders, and I wanted to respond quickly to you. The only parts of the RPGMaker VX suite used were the graphics, as mentioned. The engine is completely original, and is the result of four very talented developers who put months of work into it. (They're seriously awesome.) There isn't a single line of code re-purposed or produced from Enterbrain's product.

Hope that clears up any misconceptions. Thanks! :)

Hey there, Aujang! It's cool to see you here, and thanks for stopping by and clearing that up. I'm sorry if I was a little vague on the RPG Maker usage, but it was neat to hear a little bit of behind-the-scenes of the game engine.

Regarding RPG Maker VX itself, I've used and seen the RPG Maker engine before (in its different incarnations over the years), and it didn't play at all like it. It may look the same due to the graphics, but it's definitely designed and optimized for the iOS platform. My advice is to just try the "Lite" version and see the game in action. You may just have to look past the licensed graphics you're familiar with to decide if it's a game for you or not.
