I can serve as a testament - I work on my EliteBook 8740w every single day. I write on it, I animate on it, I edit on it, I render on it. This thing is absolutely astounding.
The specs rival my desktop workstation at home. I never feel limited while using this thing. I love it.
It's huge, and the battery sucks, but the thing is a literal desktop replacement.
Though my laptop uses the FirePro M7420 graphics solution (Eyefinity on a laptop ftw), I can assure any professional or student doing CAD, DCC, or any of the professions using workstations will find everything they need and more in this laptop.
1. I write "business" on paper and a laptop would make life soooo much easier and faster too.
2. I was just told I had a good voice and should do voice over's - if I had a laptop I could go about "doing" my idea for an online or traditional radio show - I need equipment to broadcast onsite.
3. I have a 7 yr old HP desktop and I am vascilating between the new touchsmart (which reallly isn't portable with a 23" screen) and a laptop - WOW could I use a nice laptop - it would cinch the decision.
4. I could send thank you notes to nice people who set up contests.
Except Tim, who put zero effort into this. "Here's a video I made in 2005. I didn't actually create anything for this contest that will be judged on creativity."
I do know a bunch of people who could make valuable work with this stuff... However I live in France... Ever heard the MIFA animation international festival in Annecy ? if not you should take a look on this site : http://www.annecy.org/home
I am glad you posted on here, I completely forgot to finish this...strangely I was thinking about who might when while sitting on the toilet Saturday after I got home.
I have an essay I wrote in sophomore english class back in 2003 about what I would do for my town with a million dollars. Can I submit it as an allegory for the laptop? :P
This is one really intense system. Our workstations are hps & 1 laptop, but all our homeschool kid bloggers have other branded netbooks. Yet, they are true engineers and software developers and computer animation artists--that while I'm the next one who needs a workstation for my online biz, they would do wonders for the video, animation, gaming software and hardware challenging them to levels they deserve, as they already far exceed typical "mom bloggers" for their technological abilities and enigneering expertise. We look forward to submitting a well-thought out, creative, dynamic entry. Thanks for the opportunity!
P.S. Can you kindly link all 10 review posts, we're jumping here & there on your site, but one full list would make it easier & helpful to truly understand it's fullest capabilities.

1st installment being "The HP EliteBook Mobile Workstation project" and then working your way up the list for the newer installments. They are listed in reverse chronological order and he did other articles as well.
Final installment is "HP EliteBook 8740W Mobile Workstation review conclusion"
Okay, I decided. You don't like the video I gave you for my entry? Fine, I'll make a new video. It's going to take a few days but I'll make it to show why I need the new laptop, and it won't be just me in it either. I just had a good idea.
It's not that I don't like your video Tim, it's that you didn't create it for this contest. We're judging based on creativity, and you submitting a video from 2005 is just phoning in an entry.
Create something new for the contest! That's the entire point

I wouldn't call it "jumping here and there"... Each post ends with a link to the next one chronologically... sort of a "click here to go to the next part." Not sure how much more simple I can make it?
Thanks Brian. What happened is I used the "related posts" linked to this blogpost, which gives me Day 6 & Day 5, which brings me to the next. Then, I was trying to find archives, and search which was giving me different days. Fortunately, RyderOCZ tip, brought led me to the 1st blogpost here & now I see "Day 2, 3..." chronological order. http://tech.icrontic.com/articles/the-hp-elitebook-mobile-workstation-project
Thanks again--you obviously love this incredible system & have detailed it thoroughly.

I'd love to see all of the interesting ones. I feel like trolling and making a ridiculous sap story.

Seriously, it's that good.

If you'd consider it, please send a mail
Besides, I'm sick right now with bronchitis, so I can't talk too much to make a new video at this time.
I DO have a video planned that I expect will become THE internet viral video of 2011, we'll have to wait and see......
I agree!
Two dudes one cup?

Okay, here's my new, ALL ORIGINAL FOR THIS CONTEST video entry. Hope you like it!
