Best gaming laptop under $1,000

My Asus F3S just pooped out, the motherboard/graphics card. I am looking to make a new purchase and was wondering what the best laptops available are under a grand. I will be using this computer as my everyday machine. I would also like to make sure that it has the graphics/RAM/CPU to handle any new games. Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

When it comes to gaming laptops under a grand, you'd be hard pressed to beat the Alienware M11x IMHO.

Of course limiting yourself to $1000 for a gaming laptop is rough. Sure, you can build a pretty nice gaming desktop for under that, but good gaming laptops for that price... those are a lot harder to come by.

David doesn't play FPS games very much. Probably the most demanding game he has right now is Starcraft 2.

His old laptop was a 15" screen so that should probably be the baseline for the size in a new one.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, I am just a little dissapointed that there hasn't been the continued jump in technology. I bought the Asus laptop a few years ago and it seems that for the same money that I can only buy a similar system. Whereas from maybe 2000-2002 the difference in technology was definitely visible... As far as games Charles is right I am not in need of an extreme graphics machine for fastpaced FPS or huge 3D realms...but if I had the system to play those games then who knows...
