My new installation of Windows Vista, will not allow me to 'Daisy Chain' two IDE devices on the one controller, ( they're both fine seperately ) As the Motherboard only has one IDE connector, how do I do this ? ( one is a HDD, and the other an optical drive ) Thanks.

Set the jumpers on the 2 drives to Cable select. If that fails, then set one to master (at the end of the cable) and one to slave.

Cable select will probably solve the problem.
