How does one network more than one printer to multiple computers?

Okay looks like I may have given the industry more credit than I should have. :o

I have two printers that I want to share between three computers and one oddball Apple ipad. In looking for inexpense standalone print servers they all seem to control just one printer.

So does that mean I would have to run to servers "parallel" using up two of my hard wire points on my router?

Each printer has to have its own server.

There ARE servers that can handle multiple printers, but they can get pricey. I use a desktop PC as a print server for two separate printers.

Yeah, I would just plug them both into a desktop.

If the printers don'r have network ports, then plug them into a rarely used or old mid-tower. Good use for 10yo Compaq machines, etc. Share them from the tower, and connect to them by UNC name. \\server\printer1

if the printer have network ports, well... Plug them in, set a static IP on the printer and connect via IP...
