Preacher is right though I hopped on for a few hours today and it was full and good times despite lag and Mic issues. (It was decided I made the mating call of a Rock Penguin). And this is the kind of fun that I think we all miss.
70USD is pretty high and since we probably won't ever play at the same level as we used to not really necessary.

Apparently there is a button on my mic I didn't know about that will make said Rock Penguin noise if sat on.:o
The server was just a backup for when the official Vent server was having its (many) lag/connectivity issues. I, for example, have just been too lazy to switch back.
This server will be de-branded soon (unless someone can provide a compelling reason not to do so), though it will remain around - it will not be an "official" Icrontic vent server as it isn't being used in any official capacity.
As Rob said, it was meant to be a backup to the official server (which would frequently shit bricks on raid nights).

An ..ahem. anonymous and generous benefactor.. ahem, who shall remain anonymous and who totally isn't a viking and totally lives in the US, dropped another huge chunk of money onto the account for the community. We have nine months of play time at the current rate now.
Not sure if this has been said before but why doesn't IC just use mumble instead of Vent?
I've actually wondered about setting a mumble server up. Most of the people that used to sit around on vent now end up just using skype. If we had a server already going that could be used for mumble it would be easy and free to set up.
Thanks for the donations so far everyone! We still have a ways to go though! If you enjoy the Icrontic TF2 or Vent servers, throw a couple of bucks in! PLEASE!

- Uses the Vent channel for Ponytube or Minecraft
- Uses Vent for anything else
