GOOD! I was all kinds of excited to get the 3DS so I could get some old games to play on it, but nope.

It has been pretty lackluster so far, though PilotWings is really fun.

Some neat things coming. Yeah I wish they were here sooner, but this is still pretty cool. The fact the browser can be pulled up mid-game is surprising, and very handy. The most basic use for this is reading up on a guide if you get stuck, and it just gets better from there.

Eli got me a 3DS for muh birfdayz and I've been trying to update it all day. I got an update this morning but it didn't include a browser or a store.

You probably got the first update, which came out around launch. I've read that deployment to 3DS users may take up to 48 hours.

Not gonna lie, at first I though, Zelda Ocarina of Time, meh, been there, done that. Now that I have seen a little more if it, I kinda want a 3DS. I think its going to be a huge system seller.

Eventually, yes. I have no doubt of that. It's just hard to justify without a strong library that should have launched with the system. I've played Pilotwings at a store kiosk and it was fun, but not enough to justify dropping $250. Give me an original Metroid, Super Mario, and Zelda, then we'll talk.

The update came today; the store is solid and they're gonna have a lot of titles soon. At the press conference today they hinted at a lot of HD remakes of classic games as well. The virtual console lineup looks solid as well, with a lot of classic Gameboy and Gameboy Color titles.

    It's time to buy a 3DS.

Pro-tip: for those that never played it and are getting a 3DS, get Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening from the virtual console store. One of THE best Zelda games. For a classic grayscale Game Boy game, it was leagues ahead of its time. Cute and simple story, solid gameplay, and a nice musical score... plus an ending that excuses you if you shed a few man-tears.

    Yeah. It's good.

I played the DX version of Link's Awakening on the GBC, second handheld game I ever owned. Absolutely freaking amazing game.

    Maybe I spoke too soon.

    Mario Kart looked pretty fun.

While I'm still mildly annoyed Zelda is a remake of Ocarina of Time, and it would be the third time buying the game, it does look like a pretty good remake. Still want a new title though.

Still want Metroid. Other M was incredibly short. Nintendo (or whomever gets the contract for the franchise) is probably saving that one for Wii U.

They'll get my money eventually. Maybe this year, maybe next year, but they'll get it.

    Skyward Sword. Do want. Now.

The problem is, I know there's going to be a Wii AND a Wii U release. Which means I won't be buying the Wii version. Which means I have to wait longer.

Didn't sound like there would be two releases. What makes you say that?

100% backwards compatible with Wii games. I'm still in doubt about two versions.

The demo of Skyward Sword on the Wii U looked phenomenal; it definitely was not the Wii version. The graphics looked PC quality.
