Virus Please Help!

edited June 2011 in Science & Tech
Right people,
I seem to have a MSN virus :(
I have scanned my pc with:
bitdefender total security,
malwarebytes' anti malware,
spybot search and destroy and no luck,
I have used CCleaner aswell,
but this virus is sending people links in e-mails.
I defenetly know its not someone on my account because i have changed my password several times to make sure.

does anyone have any idea how to get rid of it or if anyone knows where it is?

Thanks
Craig

If they are sending emails posing as you, it is spamming with modified "from" address. Not necessarily something on your PC. If you've scanned with all of those and not found anything, then you need to just send a mass email out to your friends/whoever uses that email and let them know that they should block your current account and what your new account will be.

loverly is there no way of stopping without making a new account?
and how could this of happend, through someone getting hold of my password or different way, so i could prevent it in the future.

They do not necessarily have your password, they may not sending through your account. They are "spoofing" and using your account as the return, but they are actually sending from somewhere else that has nothing to do with you.

That and no. They can continue to spoof even after you close your account. The reason I recommend doing that is so that you will be able to tell others to just block that account as spam and move on.

Prevent it from happening in the future: don't put your email in publicly visible locations on the internet and be careful where you put it in forms.
