nVidia and FutureMark's 3DMark03

edited January 2004 in Science & Tech
[link=http://www.legitreviews.com]Legitreviews[/link] has posted an article/review looking at the current situation between Nvidia and Futuremark over the latter’s 3DMark03 graphics benchmarking software.

[blockquote]nVidia has obviously re-enabled their optimizations for 3DMark03. No doubt about it -- nVidia even stated so themselves. FutureMark has tried twice to alter their benchmark to cause nVidia's drivers to no longer detect 3DMark03 and kill the optimizations. This is the second time nVidia has released a new driver which detects FutureMark's new build of 3DMark03. What should be done next? Should FutureMark release another new build that breaks the optimizations for the 53.03 driver? Let's look briefly again at what FutureMark has already done.

They should write some optimizations for better image quality and performance in real world games and apps while they are at it ....
