I have been working with this problem for a while now and can't find any indication of the problem. So, whenever I right click on a file in windows explorer (or on the desktop) the process stops responding, it also freezes when trying to navigate to "My Computer" (also the drives don't show up and it freezes if I try to show them).:confused2
Attached is the file from the problem steps recorder.

Download a program called MBAM (malwarebytes anti-malware). Install and run it in safe mode, then report back.

I have run that as part of an 8 step virus removal plan that found nothing major, but I'll try it again soon.

Alright, it's just that MBAM kills a couple malware strain that commonly produce the symptoms you're describing. I would check to see if your memory is in good working condition.
