Limited Access User Cannot Save Files onto 2nd HD

edited July 2011 in Science & Tech
I have a desktop running XP Pro SP3 with a 2nd HD in it that came from a dead desktop. The 2nd HD was the main HD in the dead desktop and was running XP Home (not sure which SP).

I moved my teenager's MY DOCUMENTS to the 2nd HD so the 6+GB of music, etc wouldn't continually fill the C-drive and slow Windows to a crawl.

Problem, my teen's Limited Access user account cannot save to the 2nd HD. As soon as I change the account type from Limited to Administrator, files can be saved.

I've set the SHARE setting to allow the 2nd HD to be shared and updated by all users. The teen's USER folder and DOCUMENTS folder are also set to be shared.

What's causing this and how can I fix it?

NEVER MIND. I found a very viable workaround. Rather than trying to keep the files in the "official" folder/file structure of "E:\Documents and Settings\USER\My Documents", I simply created a new folder at the 2nd HD's root level called E:\USER'S DOCUMENTS, moved all files and folders there and re-pointed the MY DOCUMENTS for that user to the new folder. PROBLEM SOLVED
