Fire it up, open up the Control Panel, the look at the System information. It'll tell you what the processor and RAM are. Also, when the computer boots up it should tell you what video card it's using.

I personally prefer going to Start>Run>dxdiag. Most all the info you could ever want about it is usually right there.

Do not install Norton anything; it will slow down your computer something awful. Microsoft Security Essentials is pretty much good enough, as long as you keep up with the updates.

Your computer was a gaming PC a while ago, but it's out of date and will probably have trouble with the very latest games coming out (like Battlefield 3, etc.)

We need to know what video card you have installed.

It is a legacy system, if that's what you're asking.

ewwww. Definitely going to need more RAM at some point too which is a problem when the MB only supports 2 gigs.

not to be rude, but my cell phone has more power than this PC

it will be perfect for office and internet browsing.

    AGP slot
    AMR slot
    DDR slots

    whole bunch of OLD there

best AGP gaming video card on newegg is this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161337, a 4670

you already got 2GB of memory, which is max

could do windows 7 and get a nice 7200rpm hard drive and be able to do TF2

or just get a new PC for $600 and call it a day

Also... you could get WinXP installed on it, and try to sell if for $100 on Craigslist. someone will buy it and you get the $100 towards a $600 system. ;)
