Motorola Droid X2 Notifications

My mom just got the Motorola Droid X2, and we can't figure out how to change the notifications to only beep, etc. for text messages, and not for e-mail, etc. There seems to only be a notification setting for all messages or none. My dad thinks there may be an app out there to change it so the notifications can be turned off for e-mail. Let me know if you guys have any ideas!

He should be able to alter the notifications from the settings menu within each application: gmail, messages, etc.

    Glad everything worked out. :)
  • I have not been able to figure out how to make the alarm on the default calendar app be something different than my other notification sounds. I really need to have my calendar ringtone to alert me to an impending deadline, but I can't have email and other notifications that obvious. Help.
