Need help; possible virus
Hello all. It's been a while since I've been on the forums, but I was wondering if i could possibly get some help. I think my pc may have contracted a virus. It's started running and booting up extremely slow, and every now and then i get a bunch of pop-ups that just wont stop. I thought maybe it might be a ram issue, but thought i would check in with you guys first for some expert advice. Below is a HJT log of my pc. Sorry if i've posted this in the wrong forum, but as i said, it's been quite a while since i've been here. Any help given would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Even if you are using Chrome, update Internet Explorer to v9. In general go go whatever Windows Updates you need.
Avira is pretty decent, and if it is updated it would probably detect a virus.
You may want to just give Malware Bytes a run through. Things like "pc pitstip" make me think you might have a bit of adware but nothing malicious. I don't think your computer slowed down because of a virus.
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
I'd also get rid of Comodo security software if you already have Avira.
Good luck amigo.
I would run ccleaner (registry and temp file cleaner, removing all files, defaults are fine, save .reg backup to my docs or somewhere), combofix (instructions, but you just double click through it in regular booted windows), malwarebytes (install in normal mode, update then full scan), and ccleaner again (both file and registry), in that order.
Post the logs as attachments here and report back with your results (i.e. it got faster/no popups, or not, or you notice non-standard behavior from the programs, i.e. exiting without reporting results or not running at all) and you should follow PirateNinja's advice about only using one AV/firewall.
Sorry for the delayed response. I've attached the logs requested, I followed the steps provided and it doesn't seem to have changed very much. Also, I'm getting an error message when I try to update windows, and it will not allow me to update it at all. (403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.) It's also very slow when booting up, and showing a screen that it didn't show before I did the combofix when booting. Any chance of a rootkit infection?
Id Avira updated, and if so have you done a full scan with Avira?
When you go to http://www.windowsupdate.com , does it ask for a password?
Ya, I have my avira to run a full scan every night after i go to bed, while it updates itself five minutes before the start of the scan. When I went to the windows site, it didn't ask for a password. It just loaded painfully slow, only to tell me that I didn't have a certain file installed on my pc for update to work, but it worked fine for the longest time. The link you provided above also didn't ask for a password. Also, I saw where you suggested to remove the comodo security because I have Avira AV, but i'm only using the firewall from comodo, not it's av as well.
If you are behind a router you already have a "hardware" based firewall solution. If that is the case, (probably), it is better than the software Comodo firewall you have and won't cause you any problems. Software based firewalls besides the default Windows firewall cause this sort of problem. You should consider uninstalling it and see if it fixes your problem. Either way you are likely better off without it.
Anyways, if Avira is fully updated and not detecting anything I really doubt you have a virus. I'd take Comodo out of the picture, and move on from there.
Ok, that makes sense. I'll give that a shot. Thanks a lot. I'll update with any further issues.
Also, run an elevated command prompt and issue the following
sfc /scannow
It may ask for a windows disc. Anything will do, as long as it matches your service pack number.
Below is the HJT log...The only windows disc I have is my original, which doesn't match my service pack, as I'm on SP3...

I'd say uninstall these programs (or what remains of them):
- bitcomet, panda antivirus, spybot sd, combofix
Next:
Start->Run->Msconfig->Startup->Uncheck everything except Avira stuff(you can go back and re-enable stuff later)
Start->Run->notepad
File->open->Set open filter to All Files->C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
if you see anything in there like this:
102.54.94.97 windowsupdate.com
or any line that is not commented out (has a # in front of it) ...
Erase those lines and save the file, then try windowsupdate.com again
Finally (probably most importantly)
Schedule a scandisk, with sector scanning, on your main drive. It's weird that your system drive is E:, but scan it. It could be your system is booting and getting stuck on some corrupt but not critical files.

If none of that helps I would reformat and install fresh Windows.
UBCD is a great boot cd to have around for all sorts of things, but in particular, Memtest86+ and the various HDD tests (I like DFT and whatever the actual manufacturer of your drive has) should be sufficient to rule out that issue in this case. Try Pirate's suggestion, but I imagine a reformat and reinstall is in store.
