Exporting from Address Book - MS Outlook

edited October 2011 in Science & Tech
Hi,
I am trying to export a few thousand e-mail address from the address book in Microsoft Outlook which I believe is stored on an exchange server.

I believe I have to copy these in to my local contacts folder first but each time I try and do this, even if I try a few little bundles at a time, my computer seems to crash.

Is there any other way of getting these email addresses exported?

Thanks, Adrian

    First do this:
    1. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, click the View tab, and then click the Show hidden files and folder option.
    3. Go here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

If it is receiving contacts from Exchange, in all likelihood there is a offline copy in that folder as a .oab file.

What format are you trying to export too?

Could be your outlook file is corrupted. If you are on exchange then I'm assuming this is a work machine in which case why don't you just talk to your IT support there. Likely you should be able to delete your ost file, repopulate it from the exchange server which would fix any corruption you have on the local store.
