So I just got a Galaxy S II - now what?

I was tired of my blackberry so traded it in for an S II. I was originally trying to get an iPhone but it was a work thing and sim cards were involved so it was just easier to switch from Blackberry to this android phone. Plus if I really hate it I can trade it off to someone else.

So I've spent the day basically playing with it and gotten over it's clunkiness - which is to say it's different then iOS which is what I'm use to from my iPAd. The biggest difference is just that in iOS everything is basically right there on the surface. In Android I find I have to dig through stuff more often to find what I'm looking for. But it's more a familiarity thing then saying it's worse.

I also found out that the vpn won't connect to my cisco stuff, but it's a minor thing since it can do the wifi-hotspot and my ipad can connect over the cisco vpn.

But anyway back to my question. Now what? What are the killer apps that I should be looking at to really make this thing shine. So far I've added Dolphin and an xbmc remote cuz well why not.

Drop Dolphin and pick up Opera Mobile. Opera Mobile offers all the same amenities--tabbed browsing, fast page loads, etc.--but also has hardware acceleration for silky smooth scrolling/panning. Best browser for Android, hands down.

You can get Cisco VPN support... you just need to root your phone. Found that out on my old G1.

I will be joining you in the "I just got a Galaxy S II" club. My wife's phone is dead and I'm using her replacement. I cannot wait another month on the hopes the Nexus Prime arrives...

This phone is way to thin. Added an Otterbox commuter case to it. Makes it so much nicer feeling. Gives it a little weight too.

Just bought my SGSII from Amazon for $199!!!! Man, that was what I needed. T-mobile wanted me to pop $280 for the phone and send in a rebate for $50. Total would have been $230 plus upgrade fee and shipping. Amazon? Free shipping. Total out the door was $199 and T-Mobile will charge me for $18 to upgrade. In a week, I will be SGSII-ing!!!
