Help with Ultra ST-305 RAID Controller

edited February 2004 in Hardware
I just bought this card. Probably a big mistake. I am attempting to install Win XP Pro but can not seem to provide XP with the right info for it to recognize the controller. It came with a CD and I have tried copying the drivers to a floppy but XP doesn't seem to like what I am providing. If anyone has any experience setting up this controller I would greatly appreciate their help.

Thanks!

Yes, that's where I'm at. XP is asking me to provide drivers for the controller I am trying to use. The problem is I have tried every driver I can find for this card but with no success.

I've never heard of the card but... so what happens when you hit f6 and try and feed it a floppy with drivers? Does it say they are not the right drivers or what? Can you give us a tad more info to work from? Got a link to the site that makes that puppy maybe?

Are you putting it onto a new system thats never been setup?

Thanks for your response Tex. I think I have it fixed now....thanks to DaK. I think the drivers I was using was for a non-raid version of that card. Don't no how that happened. I was using the drivers from the CD that came with the card. Well, I guess you get what you pay for.

And actually most the low end stuff is like that and sometimes needs to be screwed with. After this long its all second nature. I edit the .inf files and stuff and figure I can make almost anything work.
