I've been frustrated with my DE razor shaving lately. Trying lackluster blades coupled with my Cade soap deciding to not lather worth a damn left my face a mess last week. I quit shaving last Wednesday, giving my face time to heal and my badger brush a much needed rest. It wasn't bad being scruffy, but last night the dreaded beard itch kept me up for hours as I tried to fall asleep.
I decided I'd waited long enough.
When I got out of the shower this a.m., I went straight to the sink. Good old Crabtree & Evelyn Sandalwood soap, a Feather blade, and my trusty Merkur long handle classic. The first pass easily knocked down six days of beard. It was great. A good blade and lather make all the difference. No pulling. No tugging. No blood. No weepers. Three passes and some clean up. I'm baby butt smooth. I feel damn good.
