[BLOG] Bringing more than sexy back...

I left the house with a great deal of energy. Sometimes I think there is going to be pain and fatigue, come to expect it, and then have to actually force myself to realize that it's not there. Fatigue when exerting myself has become a habit for me, one that will be hard to shake.

My walk was relatively short tonight. I decided that I'm going to go with my gut on these and just do what feels right. Instead of taking a long walk like I did last night, I did another short one but really upped the pace.

I wanted to jog (that's another first!), and I started to a little bit, but I'm still concerned about my knees. I definitely have pain in my knees when I'm doing stairs and I don't want to take even the slightest risk of doing serious damage. I think I need to drop 40-50 pounds before I start thinking of running.

I have contemplated a gym membership for a long time, and my brother came over the other night and was talking about it as well. I'm beginning to think that I'm just gonna call him and say "Jim, we're going to work out, **** it."

Another thing I want to bring back into my life besides sexiness and hotness is meditation and spirituality. I've been talking to @hogpath recently and we're both kinda 'fallen Buddhists' in a sense. We've paid lip service to going back to a temple and getting back into meditation, and mentioned going together a few times, but it's just kinda gone nowhere.

He finally took the initiative to text me the other day and ask if I wanted to go. I think we're going to actually go on Monday to the temple I used to go to for years. I think meditation will be an important part of my overhaul.

I've made a lot of new friends recently, and I am becoming influenced and inspired by all of them. It is important to me that I not let any of them down.

Excellent man. Mentally you're getting yourself in the right place. Whatever it takes to keep you going, reflection, meditation, whatever, that's all very healthy things to do when undergoing something like this.

Definitely a good call if you start going to the gym with your brother. Start doing some simple upper body workouts with him. I can't stress enough how important having friends at my side was for me when I first started getting in shape. If you're both into the notion, then it certainly won't hurt.
