I just closed Google News in disgust. I'm all for a good editorial, but what the heck is it doing in the News feed? Newspapers maintained the separation for generations. Has the wall been toppled by piss-poor website design and unsegregated RSS?
Google doesn't delineate between the two on its "News" aggregator. Once I click a link, I can't tell whether I'm in the Opinion section or the News section most of the time, even on major "news" corporations' websites.
I find myself increasingly ignoring the news, and the news just gets shriller and shriller in response. It's like I'm clamping my hands over my ears, and the media's solution is to yell at me louder. Does anyone just report news anymore?
